To determine the proper seat pan size perform the following measurement:
Measure length at thigh while seated __________________
Measure from back of buttocks while seated to inside of kneecap. This is called popliteal.
The ideal chair would have 2-3 fingers of room between the end of the chair and the back of your
leg. Without correct seat pan depth your spine is not supported and your discs are compressed. The same
is true if the individual's legs are up against the back of the chair. This is typical for very
petite people and cuts off circulation.
