For Immediate Release August 1, 2000 Kinesis Corporation Cramer, Inc. Strategic Alliance Formed Between Two
Leaders in Ergonomic Keyboards Kansas City, KS / Bothell, Washington -- Cramer, Inc. and Kinesis Corporation announce the formation of a joint marketing agreement for their ergonomic computer keyboard, input accessories and seating products. Additionally, Kinesis has been licensed exclusively by Cramer to manufacture the Interfaces keyboard product line. "This marketing agreement allows both companies to jointly offer a much more complete line of high quality ergonomic computer keyboards and accessories than either could do individually," states Dr. William Hargreaves, Ph.D., President and CEO of Kinesis. Kinesis has been offering its patented contoured ergonomic keyboards and other input devices since 1991 and its desktop adjustable keyboard since 1997. Interfaces by Cramer, Cramer Inc.'s computer products division has been offering its patented, chair-mounted, fully-adjustable ergonomic keyboard since 1995. Cramer has been a leading manufacturer of ergonomic seating since the 1930s. "The Interfaces keyboard, was a logical extension of our ergonomic seating offerings," notes Bob Kovach, Cramer President and COO. The new alliance will allow both companies to capitalize on each other's respective strengths in product development, manufacturing, distribution and customer service. "We are looking forward to this relationship," says Kovach, "because it will provide Cramer with new economies of scale in production plus significant technical expertise." In addition to manufacturing, Kinesis will also provide technical support for Interfaces. "Each of the Kinesis and the Interfaces keyboard models is designed to provide a comfortable, yet correct posture for the arms and body with the result being increased comfort, greater productivity and reduced fatigue," according to Hargreaves. Both companies have been recognized by the industry for providing multiple solutions to the productivity, pain relief and worker retention issues facing employees and employers. Kinesis Corporation is a privately held company headquartered in Bothell, Washington. It was founded in 1991 to develop ergonomic computer products which improve health, comfort and productivity for computer users. Cramer, Inc., is headquartered in Kansas City, Kansas and has been in the manufacturing business since 1886.
